NCDA's Credentialing Commission has approved the CPI according to the Continuing Education Manual

NCDA has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP #1003. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. NCDA is solely responsible for all aspects of this program.

After the event, NCDA will send participants an electronic link to the evaluation form.  After completion of the evaluation, the system will direct you to your online membership record where your continuing education transcript can be printed.

(LIVE) DEI + Career Development 2.0: The Current State of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Career Development

Marked acts of racial violence and the implications of COVID-19 have rendered numerous career disparities visible. To keep moving forward on the implementation of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the field of career development, the panel presenters will walk through challenges, opportunities, actions, and systematic plans related to the current state of career development practices and career services. Applications of DEI will cover the overarching lens of DEI in career services, specific launching points to enact DEI practices, and preparation for further challenges.

(LIVE) Session: Assisting International Students and Career Development Professionals Working with International Students
First created as a task force during the NCDA conference in 2012,  the International Student Services Committee (ISSC) has opened up new horizons in research and resource development areas for career development professionals working with international students. This presentation will cover accomplishments of ISSC and obstacles that ISSC is facing.

Portfolios for Skill Development

Curricular and co-curricular experiences directly lead to career readiness. Students struggle to make the connection and frequently see coursework as separate from professional experience. Through building pathways into their long-running portfolio program, Columbia College Chicago is creating direct connections for students to use reflection as part of the skills identification process. Pathways provide a roadmap to a more inclusive process of career readiness.

This session reviews the development and design of the Career Development Competencies for working with Veterans (CDCV) and corresponding training program. Participants learn elements of the proposed CDCV and training, and have an opportunity to provide input on the CDCV based on experience providing career services to military/veteran populations.

Assessing the Tech Readiness of Clients

As we've rapidly moved to a virtual world, many individuals are left behind. Lack of technology or lack of tech skills marginalize the populations we are serving. In this workshop, we will review the NCDA technology assessment tool, explore our own technological biases, and identify ways to help those that lack resources to develop a successful career in this virtual world.
