Higher Ed Career Practitioners

In keeping with PACDA’s mission to provide professional development and networking opportunities, we invite you to convene with practitioners within your primary affiliation to get to know each other and discuss key challenges.

We will be discussing: Managing Career Counseling in a Virtual Environment

  • Advising students on the virtual job search and networking
  • Navigating the intersection of mental health and career counseling
  • Challenges for underrepresented student populations

Amy Siler is Counselor, Assistant Professor, and Advisor at the Community College of Allegheny County. She provides career, transfer, academic and personal counseling to students; presents workshops; teaches personal and career development courses; and advises students in major and career decisions, transfer schools, and course selection. She earned a Master’s Degree in Research Methodology from the University of Pittsburgh and M.Ed. in School Counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and is an MBTI Certified Practitioner.


Lauren Granese has worked within the field of higher education and career services since 2014. She earned both her B.S. in Human Development & Family Studies, and M.Ed. in Counselor Education with an emphasis on Career Counseling from Penn State. She is a National Certified Counselor and is working toward her LPC. She currently works within the College of the Liberal Arts Career Enrichment Network at Penn State, where she serves as a career coach for all Liberal Arts Majors, as well as assists with managing the Alumni Mentor Program. She is passionate about engaging and supporting college students of all backgrounds as they connect their experiences and education to their career goals and pathways.
