The Power of Saying "No"
4/15/2021, 5:00 - 6:00 PM
Everybody wants something from you. Supervisors, coworkers, staff, vendors, customers, and so on. As professionals, we are conditioned to say 'yes'. During office meetings, client calls, sales pitches, and even interviews, we're expected to say: "Yes, I will do that; Yes, I can get it do; Yes, I’ll be there; " without hesitation.
Sometimes “yes” is the way to go. "Yes" to a new project, to more responsibility, to a promotion you’ve been eyeing. But sometimes, "yes" just isn't right. The overuse of “yes” can lead to stress, anxiety, mistakes, resentment, and even damaged reputations. Well, you can say "no" and still succeed!
This presentation will introduce the fundamentals of emotional intelligence and reveal strategies for how to:
Uncover and reduce your fears of saying "no"
Understand everyone’s feelings and why they matter
Assess your “yes/no” capacity—without guilt
Facilitate the necessary ‘questioning conversation’
Develop effective logic and language around a "no" response
Focusing on “No” can lead to positive outcomes. Join us and learn to how to say it, leverage it, and own it at any level of your career, and create the YES reality you want!
