Networking is a key component for job search and career management. This presentation answer questions related to who, what, where, how, and why to optimize networking strategies. We’ll provide recommendations for tools, process guidelines, tips for introverts, and KPIs to measure networking performance. PRESENTERS

Jessica Visek is the Founder & Owner of Your Resume Partner, a private career coaching firm. As a Career Strategist, Certified Resume Writer, and nationally certified Online Profile Expert, she provides top-flight, bespoke services focusing on branding, ATS-friendly keyword optimization, and achievement-based content to create a compelling career narrative that grabs and keeps the reader’s attention. Jessica’s expertise in job search is well-known, with nearly 200 recommendations on LinkedIn. An active member of PACDA’s leadership team, she has been Co-Chair of the Membership Committee for nearly two years.

Prior to the launch of her own business, Jessica held roles as a Lead Resume Design Specialist for Andy Thomas Careers Now, a Resume Writer for Talent Inc., and a Client Services Manager at BAYADA Home Health Care. She launched her career with positions at AIRS, a leader in recruitment training, as an HR Manager and an HR Generalist. Jessica earned her BA in Political Science and Government from The Catholic University of America.

Safiya Edwards is the owner of Sterling Consulting Group, a multi-faceted practice that supports individuals and organizations in managing transition. As a proactive networker with 10K+ global connections on LinkedIn, she helps diverse job seekers from all levels, populations, industries, and functions find their “career paradise” by networking to penetrate the hidden job market. PACDA’s current President and former Program Committee co-chair, Safiya is committed to magnifying the impact the organization has on individuals as well as their families, employers, and communities.

Prior to the launch of her consulting practice, Safiya held leadership roles with premier talent mobility and healthcare firms, including Lee Hecht Harrison, Aetna, and CIGNA. She earned her MBA and MPH from Yale University and her BA in Biology from the University of Virginia. Safiya actively engages in supporting education focused community organizations, including the Coatesville Community Education Foundation.

NCDA CEUs: You may register to earn 2 NCDA CEUs.

  • CEUs are free for PACDA members; $10 for those who are not members of PACDA.
  • If you attend the program live, complete the post-program survey (sent by email within three days of the event) and receive your CEU certificate.
  • If you register for the program but do not attend live, you will receive an email with a link to the recording. Watch the recording and then complete the post-program survey (survey link in the same email) to receive your CEU certificate.

Act 48 credit:

PACDA and PSCA members: After the event, complete the post-event survey, then email ceu@thepacda.org to obtain your certificate of attendance, which you can then submit via the PSCA website.

Not a PACDA or PSCA member?: You may be able to obtain Act 48 credit. After the event, complete the post-event survey, then email ceu@thepacda.org to obtain your certificate of attendance. Submit this to the Pennsylvania Department of Education via your local education agency, which will have the final say on whether this program qualifies for Act 48 credit. Or, you may submit via the Pennsylvania School Counselor Association for $10.
