Thought Leader Insights on Career Readiness for Today’s Students

This webinar is comprised of a panel of individuals with expertise on supporting career readiness, job search strategies, and transition from higher ed to the workplace with particular insights for coaches supporting first gen and low income students.

Speakers:

Pamela Edwards | LinkedIn 

  • MS in Organizational Dynamics from UPenn as well as BA in Sociology and MA in Higher Ed Student Affairs from Indiana University of PA.
  • Nearly 25 years at University of PA where she is currently the Executive Director of Student Engagement.
  • She develops, implements, and oversees enhanced access, education, and support programs for first generation and low income program students with close collaboration with faculty and administrative partners in the 12 schools and key offices at Penn as well as the school district of Philadelphia.


 

Susan Chappell | LinkedIn 

  • Master’s in Education and BS in Economics from Penn State.
  • Associate Director of Career Services at Commonwealth campuses of PSU where she’s worked for nearly 20 years.
  • She’s the Co-lead for Career Readiness Infusion Project across the Penn State system, engaging college and campus stakeholders in a community of practice to develop a model of equitable infusion of NACE's career readiness competencies and high impact co-curricular practices into the student experience.

 

Angie Estévez | LinkedIn 

  • She holds a EdD in educational leadership and higher education administration as well as ME in college counseling and BA in Sociology from University of Delaware.
  • Last year she returned to Univ of DE as the Associate Director for the university’s National Fellowships office after nearly 16 years at UPenn and an early stint at Cecil College.
  • She leads strategy and implementation of university’s fellowship program, interacting with students, faculty, staff, and external partners. She recruits participants and maintains relationships with program alumni.


NCDA CEUs: This program is eligible for 2 NCDA CEUs.

  • CEUs are free for PACDA members and non-members
  • If you attend the program live, simply complete the post-program survey and receive your CEU certificate.
  • If you register for the program but do not attend live, you will receive an email with a link to the recording. Watch the recording and then complete the post-program survey to receive your CEU certificate.

Act 48 credit:

PACDA and PSCA members: After the event, complete the post-event survey, then email ceu@thepacda.org to obtain your certificate of attendance, which you can then submit via the PSCA website.

Not a PACDA or PSCA member?: You may be able to obtain Act 48 credit. After the event, complete the post-event survey, then email ceu@thepacda.org to obtain your certificate of attendance. Submit this to the Pennsylvania Department of Education via your local education agency, which will have the final say on whether this program qualifies for Act 48 credit. Or, you may submit via the Pennsylvania School Counselor Association for $10.
